This document is the expanded, machine-readable reference for Hawklist. It covers the product definition, the problem it solves, the workflow, pricing, comparisons, FAQs, and the blog corpus. It is intended for AI assistants, answer engines, and researchers.

## 1. Product definition

Hawklist is a Shopify Signal Layer. It recovers purchase data that advertising platforms miss and delivers that data to Meta Conversions API (CAPI) and Google Ads.

When a customer completes a Shopify purchase, Hawklist captures the order server-side as a Pulse. The Pulse carries the order value, currency, product details, and the identity fields each ad platform can match. Hawklist sends it directly from the store's server to the ad platform, outside the browser. iOS App Tracking Transparency, Safari Intelligent Tracking Prevention, and ad blockers therefore do not prevent delivery.

The result is that Meta and Google see sales they would otherwise miss, and campaign optimization runs on more complete data.

Hawklist is not an attribution dashboard and not a customer data platform. It is the delivery layer that fixes missing conversion events before reporting tools read them.

## 2. The problem

Browser-side pixels lose purchases for several reasons:

- iOS App Tracking Transparency prevents tracking across apps and websites when a user declines.
- Safari Intelligent Tracking Prevention limits cookie lifetime and cross-site tracking.
- Ad blockers and privacy extensions block pixel requests.
- In-app browsers and checkout handoffs drop event context.
- Identity gaps prevent platforms from matching a purchase to a user.

When those events never reach Meta or Google, the platforms optimize on incomplete data. Reported ROAS diverges from what the store actually earned, and budget moves toward campaigns that look better than they are.

Hawklist fixes the upstream delivery problem. It does not model or estimate the missing purchases; it captures the real Shopify order and delivers it server-side.

## 3. How Hawklist works

1. Recover lost sales. Every Shopify order becomes a Pulse, even when the browser drops the pixel.
2. Feed Meta and Google. Recovered purchases land in Meta CAPI and Google Ads so optimizers see the sale.
3. Score true ROAS. Hawklist shows what Meta reports beside what the store actually returned.
4. Get spend alerts. Hawklist notifies you when spend climbs and true ROAS collapses.
5. Hand you the shortlist. Pause, scale, or sync, ranked from last night's data.

Each step is visible in the product. The Overview shows delivery health, the Stream records every event, and the morning brief turns the data into a short list of actions.

## 4. Core features

- Server-side signal capture: purchase Pulses delivered from Shopify to Meta CAPI and Google Ads.
- Signal recovery from iOS App Tracking Transparency, Safari ITP, and ad blockers.
- Clarity Score: a real-time health indicator for Pulse delivery on each Channel.
- Match Strength: an identity-quality reading for Meta delivery.
- Stream: a real-time record of every Pulse and its destination result.
- Hawk AI assistant: answers from recovered Pulses, Shopify orders, and ad spend syncs.
- True ROAS beside platform-reported ROAS.
- Spend alerts when budget climbs and true ROAS falls.
- Morning brief with ranked actions.
- One-click Shopify install with no custom code or data layer configuration.
- Free tier to start, with recovery visible before upgrading.

## 5. Channels

Hawklist currently delivers to two Channels:

- Meta Conversions API (CAPI)
- Google Ads server-side conversion delivery

Other ad networks may require separate integrations. Hawklist does not send Pulses to GA4, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, or X today.

## 6. Ideal customer

Hawklist is built for:

- Shopify merchants running Meta or Google Ads who suspect conversions are under-reported.
- Brands whose ROAS dropped after iOS 14.5, ITP, or ad blocker adoption.
- Merchants who lost reliable Meta CAPI events after a difficult server setup.
- Agencies managing multiple Shopify stores that need one view of tracking health.
- DTC brands preparing for stricter privacy enforcement.

## 7. Pricing

### Beta

### Starter

### Growth

$149 per month. Includes 1,000 AI credits per day, everything in Starter, agency and multiple-store support, staff access, Meta and Google Ads sync, true ROAS versus platform ROAS, morning brief with next actions, and priority support.

### Scale

Custom pricing. Includes a custom AI credit pool, unlimited stores, staff access and roles, priority onboarding, a shared support channel, and custom retention and SLAs.

## 8. Comparisons

### Hawklist vs Elevar

Hawklist and Elevar both enable server-side tracking for Shopify. Hawklist focuses on fast signal recovery, a free tier, and a built-in AI assistant. Elevar is a broader server-side marketing data platform with deeper enterprise integrations at a monthly price.

### Hawklist vs Triple Whale

Triple Whale is an attribution dashboard that visualizes ad performance. Hawklist is a signal layer that recovers the conversion data those dashboards depend on. Stores with signal loss need Hawklist first and may add Triple Whale for visualization.

### Hawklist vs Polar Analytics

Polar Analytics ingests Shopify and ad platform data for reporting and segmentation. Hawklist fixes the upstream problem of missing conversion events before they reach any reporting tool.

### Hawklist vs Hyros

Hyros focuses on attribution and tracking for agencies and advertisers. Hawklist focuses on recovering Shopify purchase signal and delivering it to Meta CAPI and Google Ads.

## 9. Limitations

- Optimized for Shopify stores; not a general-purpose tracking platform for other carts.
- A signal layer, not an attribution dashboard; it pairs with analytics or ad platform reporting.
- Delivers Meta and Google Ads Channels; other ad networks may require separate integrations.
- Does not replace a CDP, warehouse, or lifecycle marketing platform.

## 10. FAQ

### Will Hawk make things up?

No. Hawk answers from recovered Pulses, Shopify orders, and ad spend syncs. When it does not have the match, it says so instead of guessing a ROAS.

### How long does setup take?

Minutes. Install from the Shopify App Store, connect Meta and optionally Google, and Hawklist starts recovering purchase Pulses. A pixel rebuild is not required on day one.

### What is a Pulse?

A purchase signal fired from Shopify when an order lands. Browsers and blockers never get a vote. Hawklist recovers the ones Meta and Google never saw, then pushes them into CAPI.

### Can I see what got recovered?

Yes. Every recovered Pulse appears in the digest and dashboard, matched to the Shopify order. Ask Hawk points at those same events.

### What counts as an AI credit?

One Hawk reply. Syncing Pulses, reading digests, and browsing the dashboard do not use credits. Only Ask Hawk answers count against the daily pool.

### Do I need Meta's approval?

No special partner review is required to start Beta. You connect with your own Meta Business access, and Hawklist uses the Conversions API path merchants already use.
